BACKGROUND
Trinidad and Tobago Bridge Initiative (TTBI) is a registered non-profit organisation founded in 2011 and the parent organisation of NEW FIRE Festival. Our vision is to be the leading nexus for the sustainable development of Trinidad and Tobago and the region. Our mission is to enable the sustainable development of communities and interest groups across several sectors by connecting people to each other, resources and transformational opportunities.
The pursuit of ecological sustainability demands that all human enterprise conforms to a new set of principles and values including Innovativeness, Creativity, Environmental Adaptability, Resourcefulness, Honesty and Integrity. Therefore our organisation operates by these principles and values.
OUR INITIATIVES
We believe that a full-spectrum approach must be taken to achieve development that is truly sustainable, for Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region. In an effort to meet our objectives, our work bridges several sectors. We actively engage the society through initiatives that address our cultural, economic and ecological needs. Careful management of our natural environment is the cornerstone of the philosophy upon which all our work is based.
Currently, our four main initiatives are:
- NEW FIRE Festival
- Upcyclers Workshop
- Creative Ecological Event Solutions
- Philanthropic Initiatives and Partnerships for Ecologically Sustainable Development
OUR GOALS
TTBI aims to:
- Enable positive behaviour change toward engendering a culture of ecological sustainability
- Continue to provide meeting spaces (physical and virtual) for meaningful engagement by members of diverse communities and interest groups, inspiring them to apply more ecologically sustainable habits to their lifestyles
- Increase the level and consistency of engagement with our stakeholders
- Increase our brand visibility to be recognised as a change agent in and for the Caribbean
- Increase resources required to more successfully meet our goals
